Teddy Bear Picnic Party

A teddy bear picnic is a fantastic party theme for young children. Teddy bear picnics may be held as a form of birthday party for an party or as a workshop, craft event or fundraiser by primary schools or other children's groups. It's also a fun activity for a family. You can combine creativity and thoughts with real live fun for all invited. You can run competitions and games with teddy bear prizes and guests can make a bear or just bring a ted along to the event.

A teddy bear picnic birthday theme can be so much fun. Kids will delight in activities relating their favourite friends. Don't forget to tell each party guest to bring their favourite bear along with them when you write out the teddy bear-themed invitation cards. Before the party, cut out teddy bear paper shapes for the party guests to enhance. Also cut out various outfits of dresses, shorts, shirts, purses, bows etc, which the children can use to dress their bear shape. At the party, give each child a glue stick, wiggly eyes, a red mouth, and a brown pom-pom for the bear's nose. Let the children enhance their bear and take it home. You can have a prize for the best decorated bear and also for the best dressed teddy among those the children have brought with them.

At the party children can delight in the usual favourites counting traditional games, tales, music and treasure hunts. A teddy bear picnic needs picnic food, of course. Cake should be bear shaped and you can use plastic teddy bear figures to enhance the cake. Serve teddy bear shaped sandwiches along with a fruit and veggie tray with various fun dips.
